What I do
When the parties do not share a language, or a document is not in the language of the body that must accept it, someone has to answer for the accuracy of what is said and what is written.
I attend property deeds, wills, birth declarations, powers of attorney, court hearings and meetings at law firms. Where anyone involved does not speak Portuguese, an interpreter must be present for the act to go ahead at all.

I have worked as a translator and interpreter in Portuguese, English and German since 2004.
I was born in Portugal to a German mother and an American father, and grew up with all three languages — and all three cultures — from childhood. I took on my first translation work while still in my teens.
Over the past two decades I have built up extensive experience in translation and interpreting, both privately and in the service of the Portuguese Ministry of Justice.
Privately, I work with individuals and companies, and with lawyers who need an interpreter or translator alongside them. Institutionally, I have worked and continue to work for the Public Prosecution Service, the Civil, Criminal and Tax Courts, police authorities and other public bodies.
